Travel | Salzburg, Austria

The hills are alive. When, in The Sound of Music, they sing about the hills around Salzburg being alive, they are not kidding: you really do feel overwhelmed by the grandiosity of the nature that's surrounding you in that place! The city itself is every bit as endearing... click on see more to find out!

Day 9.
Day trip to Salzburg
Um dia em Salzburgo

We opted not to sleep in Salzburg but to take a day trip to this city while we were in Munich instead... So we only saw the city essentials, nevertheless it was one of my favourite cities of the whole trip! Let's begin then... Whe got to Salzburg by train and walked to the city center (frankly, it's better if you take a cab or a bus). There we strolled along beautiful streets full of people dressed in tradicional clothes, as it was a national holiday that day, and of course stopped by Mozart's house. Then we started climbing and took the funicular up to the castle, from which I had one of the most amazing views of my life! The castle is very interesting and full of things to do, but my personal favourite was to climb up a tower for an even better view. Sooner than I wanted it was time to go back to the train station... but I hold Salzburg in my heart and wish to go back someday!

Really good idea to collect tips: it was like a lost pirate treasure and you could throw money into it! ||
